Chase
Streamlining Navigation
Edge Case Mapping
1 Year
PMs, ENGINEERS, CONTENT, RESEARCH
While on the Chase Rewards team, I worked on a couple of different projects. Here are two examples of unique challenges I faced, and how I worked through them.
context
Wayfinding in Chase Rewards is an emotional rollercoaster

UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM
Decoding the mobile hybrid view
Sitting down with engineers allowed me to pinpoint mobile hybrid as the big problem (as an awkward patchwork of Web XS & Native views)

DESIGNING
A few key changes…
Suppressing the nav pill
A holdover from the web breakpoint, this pill would pingpong users around.

Using design systems paradigms
This included adapting guidance on page-level nav to our space

Adapting naming conventions
Working with content, we created a consistent, tailored method for the whole space.

OUTCOMES
What would mobile hybrid look like in an ideal world?
I brought my changes in a simulated prototype that we circulated at design crits to get feedback on
SNAPSHOT
How do we account for all edge cases?
How I clarified 40+ use cases and aligned 4 teams
SNEAK PEEK
The story's not over yet!
There's more to my design process than shared here. Reach out to learn about other projects I worked on, like an internal partner tools dashboard.
