Personal Exploration

Designing a food ordering experience tailored to college students busy lives and cash-strapped wallets.

My design cut the time to order in half and reduced error rate by 10% for my test users.

CONTEXT

College students have a million things stressing them out

Food shouldn't be one of them

UNDERSTANDING THE PROBLEM

Students saw food differently

After interviews with 15 students, I realized they prioritized a few key things when it came to food…

Convenient

Pickup should slot neatly into their busy schedule

Fast

Students don't have time to wait in line

Cheap

All interviewees said money was a huge decider to order

the redesign

I started with a simple redesign of the campus ordering app

But I knew that I could take it further by automating the process of ordering. The map tab especially confused users during testing.

THE BIG QUESTION

What if I could optimize ordering for the college experience?
